Personal Background: Born and raised in the Southtowns, a graduate of Orchard Park High School and Babson College (Boston, MA), ranked #1 in the US for Entrepreneurship; Former D-III Lacrosse Athlete; NYC resident. My mother and father are Dominic & Peggy Corto, owners of Corto's Salons and I am the proud brother of former Buffalo Bills walk-on linebacker Jon Corto! I am a huge Buffalo booster and love our community, our people, our restaurants, our sports teams, and truly enjoy being in a job that helps improve our community while helping people make critical financial decisions with purchasing, selling, and investing in real estate! Professional Background: With the booming residential market, I am directing my focus and marketing efforts into the residential niche of real estate, both selling homes for clients, and actively buying investment properties myself in Buffalo, which is the primary reason for joining the highly reputable HUNT brand as of 2017!
I've been actively buying real estate since 2010, and became a full-time licensed real estate agent in 2012. As of January 2017, I joined forces with the highly reputable Hunt Real Estate in the Buffalo Met Office! I have closed over $12MM in real estate transactions across a variety of deal types, getting my start on the commercial side where working with the local business community, successfully transacted several complex transactions. I was trained under broker/developer Robert Nuchereno, Principal of Arista Real Estate. Some of my notable larger deals include a 55 unit adaptive reuse apartment complex, SPoT Coffee Kenmore, Sun Restaurant Main Street, a 10,000 sq. ft. MattressFirm lease as well as the sale of a large Class A office suite, and most recently the leasing of a national grocery-anchored retail plaza! These kinds of deals taught me a great deal about negotiation, managing process, problem solving and how be creative to make deals work!
On the residential and investment side, I am also the Co-Founder of Buffalo Renaissance Properties, a 506b entity that acquires investment grade residential real estate in the Buffalo market. I am always looking to build relationships with passive real estate investors and active cash buyers, giving me access to off-market deals to pass along to my investment clients. These projects are a blast, and I love seeing the end product and how it helps revitalize the surrounding neighborhood! Additionally, having done property launches for my own properties, I go the extra mile to ensure we absolutely optimize our buyer pool to drive up resale, which is EXACTLY what I do for my clients who list with me. It takes more that just putting a property on the MLS and hoping it sells. Please keep this in mind!
On the management side, we own and manage 22 rental units and actively growing our portfolio of BUY/HOLD real estate opportunities. Prior to real estate, I was Director of Marketing for my family retail businesses, Corto's Salons and Spas, where I dealt heavily in traditional and digital marketing, branding, and client service within the retail space.
