HUNT ERA COLUMBUS DIV. WELCOMES BROWN DOG REALTY

Brown Dog Realty, a highly specialized real estate group focused on serving the area’s First Responders, has joined HUNT Real Estate ERA’s Columbus Division. Due to the unique time constraints and 24-hour shifts of police officers, firefighters, EMTs/paramedics and other healthcare professionals, these service providers need extra support when looking to buy or sell their home. The real estate sales associates with Brown Dog Realty have been successfully servicing this clientele for the past three years, and will continue to do so as part of HUNT Real Estate ERA Columbus Division’s Webster branch.

The Brown Dog Realty team is led by Syed Ahmed Mustafa, a licensed Associate Real Estate Broker with ten years of real estate experience. Mustafa is also a Lieutenant in the West Webster fire department, he serves as a paramedic and vice-president of the Board of Directors of Northeast Quadrant Advanced Life Support and has been involved in fire/EMS for 23 years. He has been credited with numerous saves, recognized by the state for his response to 9/11 with the NYS Liberty Award, and has written several articles on EMS for various national magazines. Mustafa has a degree in Political Science and History from the University of Rochester, and received his MBA from the Simon School of Business.

“I am thrilled to have Brown Dog Realty join the HUNT organization, which will allow us to combine our high level of customer service with the vast resources that HUNT has to offer,” said S. Ahmed Mustafa. “Our clients, who are family, friends and colleagues, will now have a one-stop real estate solution, saving them valuable time and making the transaction process easy,” Mustafa continued.

A unique distinction of this specialized real estate team is the fact that they donate at least $100 from every transaction to a fire, EMS or police agency in the area where they complete the real estate deal. They are the only real estate group that donates to a first response organization in the town where they close a transaction, and they have proudly donated to a number of Rochester area departments over the years. Most recently, Mustafa traveled to West, Texas after the massive fertilizer plant explosion to offer comfort and support to fellow firefighters and family of the 14 firefighters who lost their lives in this tragic event. In addition to making their regular donation per transaction, for the next 14 houses they help buy or sell they will match that donation and send it to the department where one of the West, Texas fallen was from.

Mustafa co-founded Brown Dog Realty in 2010 with his wife, Karen, a licensed Real Estate Salesperson with a degree in Elementary Education and English Literature from SUNY Potsdam. Other team members include Charles Schallhorn, a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson with a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California at Berkley and a Kodak Fellow, and Ashley Zeiner, also a licensed Real Estate Salesperson. Together, this team has a combined 20 plus years of real estate experience.

This week, Guest Host, Linda Mallia welcomes Judge Michael Kelleher and Bill Severyn to the show!

J. Michael Kelleher has focused his practice in commercial and residential real estate as well probate, estate planning and corporate law since 1970. He is a member of the Real Estate and Estate Practice and Procedure Committees of the Erie County Bar Association.

Bill Severyn is a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker and our Broker Consultant leading the HUNT ERA Lancaster Branch.

Together, Linda Mallia leads the discussion on the current housing market. Bill
Severyn explains that the market is very busy right now as many sellers are getting multiple offers. This is great for the sellers but frustrating for buyers. If a buyer knows that there are many offers on the house they need to put forth the best offer possible which could be over the asking price.

Judge Michael Kelleher explains why its necessary to have an attorney while buying or selling a home. The attorney is there to protect you to review all the terms and conditions.
